  • 1 Whirlfloc Tablet (clarifying agent) - optional, for clearer beer
  • 2 packs of Mangrove Jack's M44 US West Coast Yeast or US-05

1. MASHING:

  • Heat 17 Liters of water in the Grainfather to a strike temperature of around 68?C (154?F).
  • Add your crushed grains into the malt pipe.
  • Carefully place the malt pipe into the Grainfather, ensuring it is sitting on the false bottom.
  • Mash for 60 minutes at 66?C (151?F).
  • After the mash, carefully lift the malt pipe out and allow it to drain into the Grainfather.

2. BOILING:

  • Bring the wort to a boil.
  • Add the bittering hops (20 g Warrior) at the beginning of the 60-minute boil.
  • With 15 minutes left in the boil, add the flavour hops (20 g Centennial and 20 g Simcoe) and the Whirlfloc tablet (if using).
  • With 5 minutes left in the boil, add the aroma hops

3. COOLING AND TRANSFERRING:

  • After the boil, chill the wort down to around 20?C (68?F) using a wort chiller or an ice bath.
  • Transfer the cooled wort to your sanitized fermenter, leaving the trub and hops behind

4. FERMENTATION:

  • Rehydrate the Mangrove Jack's M44 US West Coast Yeast according to the manufacturer's instructions.
  • Pitch the rehydrated yeast into the fermenter.
  • Seal the fermenter with an airlock and let it ferment at a controlled temperature of around 18-20?C (64-68?F) for about 7-10 days or until fermentation is complete.

5. DRY HOPPING:

  • After primary fermentation, add the dry hops directly to the fermenter.

6. BOTTLING OR KEGGING:

  • Once the desired flavors have developed, you can either bottle or keg your beer.

7. ENJOY:

  • Allow the beer to carbonate and condition for at least two weeks if bottling. Then, chill and enjoy your All Grain American Pale Ale!

Please note that brewing equipment, yeast fermentation behaviour, and hop characteristics can vary, so slight adjustments might be needed based on your experience and preferences.
