Yakima Monster (Liberty Clone) – All Grain Recipe Kit

 "Get those images of Godzilla and Mothra out of your head! I know you were thing it, but this beer has nothing to do with Japan whatsoever. Yakima is actually a region in the state of Washington USA where some of Joseph Wood’s favorite hops are grown. This monster of a Pale Ale showcases several of those hops. 5.7 Kg American Ale Malt
560 g Caramalt
500g Crystal 
20g Pacific Jade
50g Amarillo
50g Simcoe

Yeast Selection:
2 x Fermentis US-05


  1. Mash at 65ºC for 45 minutes with 17 litres of water
  2. Mash out (raise temp) at 75ºC for 10 mins
  3. Sparge 12 litres at 75ºC and boil for 60 mins
  4. At 60 minutes add 20g Pacific Jade to the boil
  5. At 10 minutes add 25g Amarillo
  6. At 5 minutes add 25g Simcoe
  7. At 0 minutes turn off the heat and start a 10 min whirlpool and add 25g Amarillo and 25g Simcoe
  8. Cool rapidly and transfer to your sanitised fermenter
  9. Top up to 23 litres with cold/hot water to achieve 18-20ºC
  10. When the wort is between 18-20ºC, add 2 packets of US05 Yeast and ferment at 19ºC for 5 days
  11. After 5 days add 50g Amarillo & 50g Simcoe into the fermenter for the dry hop and leave for another 5 days
  12. Add your finings agent and wait 2 days
  13. Keg or bottle as usual
