Amarillo Smash Pale Ale - Partial Grain Recipe Kit

- 2x Black Rock Light Malt 1.7kg
- 200g Golden Promise
- 500g Melanoiden Malt
- 500g Vienna
- 500g Caramalt
- 15g US Amarillo Hops
- 30g US Amarillo Hops
- 30g US Amarillo Hops
- 75g US Amarillo Hops
- 2Pkt M44 West Coast

- Mash at 65 degrees C for 45 minutes with 4.5 L of water.
- Mash out (Raise Temp) at 75C for 10 mins.
- Sparge 7L at 75C and boil for 60 mins
- At 60 minutes add 15g of Amarillo to the boil
- At 10 minutes add 30g of Amarillo hops.
- At 0 minutes add 30g of Amarillo hops
- Add in the Both Black Rock Light Malt stirring in so it dissolves.
- Cool rapidly and transfer to your sanitised fermenter
- Top up to 23L with cold/hot water to achieve 20-23C.
- When the wort is between 20-23 degrees C add 2 packets of Mangrove Jack's M44West Coast Yeast and ferment at 19 degrees C for 7 days.
- After 5 days add 75g worth of Amarillo hops to the fermenter (in a hop bag weighed down with sanitised marbles if you don't want as much hop mess).
- Put the barrel somewhere cold during the dry hop and leave dry hops in for 7 days.
- Add your finings agent and wait 2 days.
- Keg or bottle as usual.
